Maspalomas is more peaceful than most of the resorts in Gran Canaria. With its long beach all 6km of it, not forgetting the famous sand dunes, making you feel you are in the Sahara desert. Just to make you feel even more deserted you can enjoy a ride on a camel, over the dunes of Maspalomas. If that's not your cup of tea you can always sit in one of the open air cafes, restaurants and stroll round one of the many shops and stores. For the more energetic theirs an 18-hole golf course, a water park and horse riding.
